Mounting Instructions |
Use coarse sand paper to rough up both surfaces before applying silicon. After locating the position that the Decoyl nests best, apply a bead of silicone caulking to the keel. Try to keep the main spring box under the most buoyant part of the decoy. |

Next, press the Decoyl unit firmly into the silicon adhesive. At this point you may either continue on to step 3, or allow silicon to dry and then move on to step three. |

Using a screw gun, install two screws (provided) into the keel of your decoy. Find the two holes that make the best hold onto the configuration of your keel. Some users choose not to use screws, however Decoyl recommends that you protect your investment by using screws for more holding power. |

(Optional) The last step is to apply a line of caulk along the top edge of the unit and smooth it out with your finger. Allow silicon to dry for at least 24 hours before use. |
Herters or Internal keel Decoys.
For foam decoys use GE or Dap silicon. If you do not have access to those brands, make sure that you test the adhesive on the foam to make sure that they are compatible. |

Alternate mounting method using Zip Ties |

Start by determining the best fit and position on the keel of your decoy (Fig. 1). While holding in place, mark the spot for a hole to be drilled through the bridge of the keel. BE SURE NOT TO DRILL INTO THE BODY OF THE DECOY!! Drill hole for zip tie to pass around keel and Decoyl unit. (Fig. 2) With many decoys, it is only necessary to drill one hole around the middle area, and tie the zip tie around the hook of the keel in front. You be the judge! |

Figure 3 shows the Decoyl attached with the Zip Ties. Snip the extra Zip Tie off after it is pulled tight (Fig.4). Use a lighter and heat up the end where you made the snip, to get rid of the sharp plastic , cut off end (Fig. 5) |
