Isn’t it going freeze up in late season hunting?

Q.

A.

NO…  The Decoyl is guaranteed not to freeze up.  It’s spring box is vented to allow the water to drain out instantly.  The Decoyl also uses a multifilament polypropylene freeze-proof line.  The line does not absorb water, so it will not freeze together on the spool.  Look for our “freezer test” on this web site

Q.

Won’t the box get dirty and messed up with swamp grass or mud?

A.

NO…  The Decoyl has two surfaces that the line must pass through before entering the spring box.  Each surface acts as a squeegee, cleaning the line as it passes through, preventing grass and mud from entering the box along with the line.

The Decoyl’s vents also act as flushing ports, should the unit ever bog down in an extreme mud situation.  This, however, is not a common event as the unit gets flushed out with each use.  If the Decoyl unit gets mud in it, simply swish it back and forth in the water or operate it in the water to flush it out.

Q.

What if my line breaks?

A.

The Decoyl line has a break strength of 70 to 80 pounds,  equivalent to traditional decoy line.  If the Decoyl line breaks or gets caught in a boat motor, (not that that happens!!) the line can be replaced quickly and easily with Decoyl replacement line.

Q.

How is the Decoyl attached to my decoys?

A.

The Decoyl will fit on most any brand of decoy.  They are attached to the keel with a bead of silicon and two screws, or by using two zip ties.  There are many holes on the Decoyl that allow the hunter to choose the two best holes to cradle the Decoyl

securely against the keel.  With a bead of silicon and two screws, the Decoyl can handle being tossed around in the boat and at the hunt.

How much weight will the Decoyl lift up?

The Decoyl unit is not designed to lift the weight, through the water and weeds.  Although it will lift a 4 oz. mushroom weight,  Decoyl’s primary function is a line management tool.
